5 Reasons Why I Love Ghostwriting

Ghostwriting is easy to love. Really. Despite the lack of fame or fortune, there is no gamble in the game. Ghostwriting means you get to play with the best from the brain of another and then proceed to let your creativity tap dance across the keys.

I love to write. Ghostwriting allows me to see the constant reward from consistent work, while doing something I’m good at. What more could anyone ever ask from their 9 to 5?

I could recite reasons why ghostwriting is the grandest gig I’ve ever had all day long, but for the sake of brevity, here’s 5 quick reasons that make ghostwriting easy to love.

  1. Ghostwriting is excellent practice. The more I write, the better I get. In the last year, I’ve written more content than I can count. It’s simple math – the more you write, the better you get. The basic law of compound interest states that at some point, the aggregate time spent doing something means you can eventually do it in your sleep. Ghostwriting affords me a steady stream of work, where each day can be spent becoming better than the day before.
  2. Ghostwriting never leaves me wondering what to write. Sewing the first few stitches of a tapestry is always most difficult; blackening the white of the page with the first drop of ink, always hardest. With ghostwriting, I am taking the loose threads of another’s thought and then stitching them into a cohesive, quality piece of work.
  3. Ghostwriting is collaboration at its best. It is rewarding to reap the benefits of another brain. I enjoy Ghostwriting because it often produces work that would not have been possible otherwise. As a ghostwriter, I am able to have my biggest strengths coalesce with the strengths of another, helping us both to achieve our full potential. Ghostwriting helps me meet my needs while helping my client’s dreams come true.
  4. Ghostwriting puts me in touch with new worlds. Ghostwriting, at its best, exposes a writer to worlds he would never have touched otherwise. Writing fiction is fun, and something I’m able to do a lot more often as a ghostwriter. One of the biggest benefits of ghostwriting is getting the chance to give character’s voice and wander through worlds you could never have dreamed of.
  5. Ghostwriting allows me to build a substantial knowledge base in countless areas. Ghostwriting often has me writing as the “expert” in fields I may not be otherwise familiar with. Though this does require a bit of research on my part, the information becomes part of my collective knowledge base which I can draw upon for years to come. This comes in handy, not only when dealing with other similar ghostwriting projects, but when writing my own fiction as well.

Ghostwriting is so rewarding, coming up with 5 reasons why I love it is merely a two second process. I love my brain and need to keep it bouncing. Ghostwriting gives me an endless stream of projects to keep my thoughts dancing.

  1. Nice article Sean.

A lot of people look at copywriting (a form of ghostwriting) and think it’s a great way to make money (which it is) but they don’t realise that it’s much more than that. Aside from travelling and reading I believe writing is the best way to expand your mind’s horizons.

I particularly agree with point number 2 which is probably why I love quotations so much as they almost invariably give me a place to start and usually inspire me to write more.

Marc: Hey, Marc! I totally forgot about this lonely comment. I think it’s awesome that you comment on my SEO ghostwriter posts. High five, man. Really cool.
