How Good Writers Can Make A Great Living

Three years ago I was just like you.

I found myself questioning the shackles of my daily life and wondering how hard it would be to earn a living as a writer.

I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but I also knew if I didn’t stoke the embers of my ambition, I would lose a lifetime of happiness to a slowly dying fire.

Rather than surrender to a life sentence of self-imposed limits, I accepted the obvious:

If I could imagine a better life, I could create it, too.

Hi, I’m Sean Platt. I’m an author, publisher and entrepreneur.

I used to be a Ghostwriter.

That was before I’d published my first book, landed my first five-figure client, taken my first $300 an hour consulting call, or had more than a thread of belief that I could make this all work.

I started ghostwriting with barely enough time to use the restroom with the door closed. Though my wife and I owned our own business (a preschool) it had narrow walls and a low ceiling above over our earning potential.

I loved my family and our life together, but longed for more creative freedom and financial reward, and wasn’t willing to sit still while my best possible future faded to haze a day at a time.

Ghostwriting gave me the tools I needed to build a MUCH better life, along with everything I needed to help those writers stuck in the same spot I once was.

Most online writers fall into the same wretched rhythm, starving for the same jobs an endless tsunami of overseas writers will gladly accept for Rupees on the Dollar.

While top copywriters lick leftovers from their lips, the majority of writers scrounge bid sites in search of work.

Ghostwriting was my answer.

I’m a ghostwriter, so of course I love the sound of my own words and prefer to write for myself, but banging out keyword copy at Marrakech prices made me realize a vital secret to my health, wealth, and overall happiness.

Professionals and businesses will always need quality copy with their name on it. I could surrender my byline, make more money, and have much more time for my family and creative endeavors.

I released my ego, became the invisible wordsmith behind others’ success, and stepped on that first brick down the long and winding road to where I am today.

Ghostwriting has taken me far, but you’re probably wondering exactly what that means.

  • My company invoiced nearly a quarter million in 2010, its second year in business.
  • I’ve written everything from info products to sales copy, and now have the skill set to build myself a limitless chain of online assets that will produce and grow passive income for my family for years to come.
  • I no longer look for clients. I write what I want, for who I want, when I want.
  • When I do accept the odd ghosting or consulting job, my rate is $300 per hour (unless I make a rare weekend exception, in which case it doubles).
  • I’ve published over 15 titles to Kindle, including Yesterday’s Gone, the groundbreaking Kindle serial with my co-author David Wright.

As a ghostwriter, I’ve written sales letters, auto responders, non-fiction, fiction, blog copy, SEO copy, article for article marketing, video scripts, squeeze page copy, poetry, marriage vows, speeches, children’s books, pre-k books, even poetry.

You name it, I’ve written it.

I know how to write with speed, quality and rhythm.

Best of all I know how to write for what I’m worth.

I’m not bragging.

I’m here to help.

Ghostwriting has given my family the life I promised when I looked them in the eyes and swore I’d make our dreams come true.

But I made a TON of mistakes along the way.

Too many.

I lost my house, gathered more debt than I care to admit, and pounded the paint from my keyboard.

But it’s okay; my fingers have healed, and I made my mistakes so you won’t have to.

I don’t ghostwrite anymore, unless it’s for a friend. I spend my time writing the things I love and publishing them to Kindle. The rest of the time I spend here at Ghostwriter Dad, helping good writers make a great living.
